Taj had warned Kareem, after all, and it was a good thing, because Kareem had not had the best reaction. And it had definitely been better to have his bad reaction at Taj then it would have been to have it at Andy. He … he wasn't sure if he had made peace with it, exactly, but he had made peace with the idea that he would have to make peace with it, eventually.
He knew that Andy was coming over, and he had heard from Taj that he was doing really well these days. And Kareem knew that Taj would never lie to him about how Andy was doing, especially not just to make him come 'round on their relationship. Taj didn't lie to his brothers, and he certainly didn't lie about Andy. Kareem was excited to see what Andy looked like on a good day. It had been so long, and the very idea made him smile.
He had decided to make some cookies, actually, that was how excited he was to have Andy come by. Chocolate chip, fresh-made. There had been flour all over his kitchen (cleaned up, now), but it had been worth it. He heard the knock and padded out to the front door, opening it up with a huge grin. “Annndy!” He laughed. “Andy, my brother. Come in!”
