Taku sighed softly as he laid his head back against the cool grass, eyes gazing skyward and his chest panting. He'd just spent a good part of the night running with his lover, playing a bit of tag in the woods. He smirked as he reached out to wrap his arms around Wind and pull him against his warm, bare body. Rumbling happily, the wolf nipped along his mates jaw and smiled. "It's been way too long since we did that." Hell, it was never easy finding a place where they could safely transform without someone calling the cops. Luckily, this park was far enough out of the way that they had little to worry about.
"Yeah. I feel like we've been stuck in that apartment forever. I'm so used to driving around in that bus and finding new places to run everyday. We'll have to keep this place in mind. I like it here." Wind said still panting from his own run. He looked down into Taku's familiar face and smiled his patented stoner smile that never seemed to change, even when he was clean as snow. He chuckled and his dreads swung forward around them both causing them to be curtained in. He leaned down and pressed his lips to his wolf partner's and kissed him so gently, but with so much meaning. And it was all thought within his mind as he did it, how much he missed those lips, the warmth of his body against him like that, the breeze against his cougar fur while they ran and played like two new lovers should. But, really they weren't new. They'd been together quite awhile now and even that went through his mind. And it was during that thought that his kiss opened deeper and reached to taste just a little bit more. Wind knew it wasn't really his own fault that that old guitar possessed his mind, but a slight tinge of guilt ran through him and the kiss got even stronger. His arms held a little tighter. When he finally pulled back and looked back down at his mate he started to say I love you but he was just so overtaken with emotion the words didn't fall out of his mouth.
The wolf rumbled softly into the kiss, savoring the taste of his lover as he became keenly aware of Wind's thought. The brief flash of guilt, the way he held close and deepened the kiss made Taku hold him tight. Pressing his lips to Winds' once more, he slipped his tongue into that wet warmth and tasted his lover in the same way he had the first time they'd kissed in the back of that old stoner van. The shifter rumbled and nuzzled against Wind then, strong arms holding him tight while he kissed the boys cheeks and nose. "I love you so much, baby."
Sometimes it was a blessing to have that mind connection like in moments like these when it helped make words so unneeded. There were other times he wished his thoughts were a little more hidden. Like the next one when his mind flashed memories of that ring. But, he didn't say anything about that either. He was hoping maybe Taku missed it as he laid his head down against Taku's stout chest in comparision to his own dark and tan against olive skin. He snuggled up like the kitty that he really was then. His arms curling in on themselves and kept leaving little pecks on the wolf's neck. "I love you too." He finally managed out.
Of course he didn't miss it- how could he? He smirked and licked his lips, reaching back to paw around for his jeans. They always settled near their clothes and tonight he was very thankful for it. With a sly smile he tugged the little velvet box out of his jeans pocket and held it up to Wind. "I keep trying to find the right time to give you this, baby." His eyes study the cougars face as he steals a kiss then smiles. Something in him was fluttering and pounding- it took him a second to realize it was his heart. Not out of fear, no, but nervousness and happiness. He drew in a breath then smiled warmly to his perfect mate. "Wind Taylor?" His golden eyes locked on his partners own beautiful hues as he smiled. "Would you be my one mate for life?"
Taku always was better at listening to all those little thoughts than him. He supposed Taku had more practice. But, either way the cougar was honestly surprised when he saw that box come from his pocket. He didn't read that he'd brought it at all. The question almost seemed silly considering Wind knew long ago the answer to that one. "Of course. A million times yes, baby." Wind said outloud where he could be heard but it was a low whisper, but his mind quickly was somewhere else again. He'd heard his own name out loud. Name changes? Does my name change? Wind honestly didn't know how it worked. He wondered quickly too if Taku's pack had their own rules for things like that. The expression on Wind's face was as shy as his whisper. Wind wasn't a shy guy. But, something in the moment had him all feline, all sweet kitten.
