Iris took handfuls of the dress up to her thigh, stepping out of the dressing room. She made her way to the mirror, examining herself. This dress was nice, no doubt about it. The coral gown was tight on her body, hugging all of her curves, before it plumed out near the knees. Layers of lace were near the neckline of the strapless dress, and sequins were scattered over her breasts. This was perfect for Dana's party. The only problem was that it was five hundred dollars. She didn't have kind of cash. But it was so beautiful. Iris turned her back to the mirror, watching how it moved and flowed. She sighed and gathered up the dress near her ankles, walking back to the dressing room. She closed the door behind her, locking it too. Iris frowned as she removed the dress, unzipping the back and stepping out carefully. She let out a heavy sigh as she put the dress back on a hanger, putting on the other, less extravagant dress.
This dress was strapless as well, lily white in color. It stopped just below her knees, and had enough ruffles to make it fun, but keep it serious too. Iris got herself dressed, stepping barefoot out of the room to look at the mirrors. There she twirled around a few times, the wrinkling and rusting sound strangely exciting. This was the next best thing Iris could have picked. Tentatively, she grabbed at the price tag. Her heart banged in her chest. She couldn't have been happier when she saw that it was more than half of the other dress's price. One-fifty wasn't too bad for a dress this beautiful. Full of giddy excitement for the Valentine's Day event and the fact she'd found a great deal, Iris all but skipped to the changing room to return to her normal clothing.
At the cash register, Iris forked over the money. She collected her change, and against her better judgement, she decided to go to the food court. It was a bad idea to eat greasy, fattening food before she wore the dress, but that didn't stop her. Iris had a major craving for a cheeseburger.
