This was the hard part about dealing with Evron being around. It was like his son was bringing the whole demon community back around him and Caim didn't actually like to get involved. He had his own duties he took care of and his own plans for taking on the world and already things were happening to disrupt his flow. Therefore this different pull to connect with Evron was highly annoying in of itself because it brought more than just Evron into his life and Caim just really wasn't sure if it was worth the hassle. No, he KNEW it wasn't worth the hassle. But, still he kept talking to him, giving his advice on things, and for some reason gave a fuck that Astarte was parading around with the title of Mother after all her tortures. Caim was not your average demon. He saw things so differently. Did he maim and kill? Yes he sure did. History has it well documented. But, it came from hate and wrath and vengeance sought against God and his precious humans. It had little to do with blood lust or some inner need to do the act alone as so many seemed to have that he'd met thus far. Caim's "Fall" and his very existence since that time has been completely obsessed by it. There was nothing he did that somehow wasn't related to how he felt about it, like a mentally abused child with uncontrollable emotions he didn't understand and had dangerous powers to act out on them with. And that's what Evron came to see. He came to see the one ability Caim hated. So be it. Caim offered it. It wasn't like Evron didn't know he had one. He was his mother (real mother) after all. He was starting to feel that maternal pull and was getting rather jealous of Astarte's title. That double-demon to him was starting to have no right to call herself so. Caim's tolerance of it was just another game-face now bidding his time, patiently for the right moment. The King wanted Evron aborted. Caim saved his infant ass by tossing him to Hell. Could he call himself Mother? He sat and wondered. He couldn't help who ended up with him. He couldn't have helped what happened during Evron's childhood. Or could he? He knew Evron was too well bred to have led the life he had and it was really pissing him off to know Astarte let it happen right before her eyes and even contributed to it. He was no halfling. Caim wasn't allowed to keep him. That's what he kept telling himself over and over. It was the King's fault he didn't raise him as his own. He told himself he shouldn't give another thought. The past was the past. Who cares? But, he did. He cared. He couldn't get the things Evron last said to him out of his head. He was practically boiling. Fucking God, fucking Astarte, fucking the whole damn demonic system God damned him to live within. Minzy told him Evron wasn't in the circle of trust. Heh. His inner circle of people that he could actually be himself around and not keep his mask up. That's what she spoke on. It was an intimate circle that knew Caim for the fallen angel that he was and not just the Earl of Hell's rank he stood for. That motherly part in him was regretting a lot of things now that his very own son couldn't truly be a part of that when he should be. He mother fucking should be. He would know how to walk in demonic society with his head held high and not cowered to tow as Astarte had taught him. And then tossing him to Beezlebub of all demons with such an upbringing? No, Caim had new goals with Evron now. But, that didn't mean Caim didn't like to play.
