Caroline had not idea why she agreed, there was just a side of him she keeps seeing that she wanted to see more of, wanted to know more of, or perhaps it was the attention he lavished on her, even if it wasn’t a lot. She missed being wanted, near someone, most of all she missed home and he was a part of that.
When he knocked on the door, she moved over to her, opened it, looked at him a little apprehensive, but then smiled, pushing the door back for him to enter, “Hello!” she greeted him in a friendly voice. She knew how he could be, she knew things were strained, but she was, in her own way, maybe selfish, glad to see him.
