Jake had to think for a second to remember the wording of the spell, but it didn't take long. The spell was fairly simple, as he didn't think they had the time for complicated magic right now. It would do the job at least, which was what mattered. "It's fairly easy. Just move on the other side of her there and repeat after me." Jake was trying not to sound bossy, but he didn't know any other way to speak when so many different emotions were swirling around. Focusing on little things they could do while Adam tended the wound was better than wringing their hands and worrying.
As Melissa moved to the other side of their friend, he placed his hands over Diana's body and looked at her. Once he stated the spell, Jake paused to look as Adam spoke up. The observation was definitely not something any of them wanted to consider, but Adam had certainly stumbled on something disturbing. "It looks like a bite mark...like an animal...or vampire." That wasn't possible though, right?
Jake didn't even know what to believe, but his eyes drifted to Melissa to see if she was ready. He'd take any excuse not to fixate on yet one more horrifying realization in this whole mess, and helpful magic was at least a good use of his time.
