Jake wasn't entirely sure what was going on, or why someone had attacked one of them so viciously, but his main focus right now was going to be helping Diana. It was frightening, and there was an unmistakable look of panic and worry on his face, but he seemed to be the most stable out of everyone at the moment; which he attributed to years of keeping his emotions under control. He really didn't know how to do anything else, and Jake would rather help save his friend than freak out about whether or not this was an organized attack or an isolated incident.
It was a miracle he and Melissa managed to keep steady despite the varying odds; her emotions, difference in height, the bleeding. Somehow they managed, and he was rather proud of how well it came together. The walk into the house would be trickier, especially since it left them vulnerable as their attention was focused on the injured girl between them, but Adam's guard was what he needed to keep most of his focus. So long as they moved steadily, which they were, they wouldn't hurt Diana any worse. Once they got inside, he would try and remember any spells he knew; for healing or tracking. Anything that would help.
The mansion was in sight, though it seemed to Jake like it was miles away. He wanted to just run with Diana held close so they could get her help faster, but that would be counterproductive with the bleeding. So long as nothing jumped out at them, they'd be fine.
