Keller always felt free when she ran in her true form. She was so restricted by Night World law, having to live as a human most of the time. It was a little better in Harmony, because it was similar to the other Night World enclaves and everyone there was a part of that world or knew about it. The only difference was that it was created for Circle Daybreak--the organization that opposed the Night World Council. There, she was a little more free to roam as a panther whenever she wanted.
She knew it was risky here, anyone who saw a black panther running around would know she was out of place. But she had been cooped up in human form in her room for so long already that she needed to get out.
Keller sensed the danger and turned to see the man aiming an arrow at her, but then she saw him lower it. She wasn't one of the shifters who attacked people randomly, though if she had felt the need she would have defended herself. To show that she meant no harm, she turned her head from him and started walking rather than running. She could hardly shift in front of him.
