TREEHOUSE BASICS |
Peter had announced it in the papers, after dinner, around p.m.-ish, the treehouse would be open!! There were things to explain, starting with the secret tree. There was nothing to mark it, people would have to know the tree, be able to identify it. Naturally, people could fly up to the house, which was a lot easier, but not everyone could fly. "You say your name, your animal or planet name. Tink, for you it's Star. You say, I am the sun, and see, the tree opens for you." When Peter said that, the tree magically opened, revealing steps inside. "If someone was trying to go in with me, like a pirate, the tree would not open. Also, you have to use your name. If I give the tree a name not my own, it will not open. The tree will close behind you, so please note that two flashlights are to be kept at the bottom and the top at all times. At the top, where the steps stop, you again say, I am the... and your name, and the tree opens to a bridge to the treehouse." Since he had not gone inside, the tree closed, and Peter flew up towards the house. The house was high, impossibly high, and all signs of the foundation were gone. If you did know there was a treehouse there, you would not know one was there, it was impossible to see, built into the trees, everything hidden and high up. Peter flew up to the house and stood on a bridge with a big smile. There was a bridge coming off of the tree, leading to the den. Off of the den were three more bridges that led to three houses, 1, 2, 3. Bridges also connected the houses. The walls of everything were made of solid planks of wood (no matter what any pictures show) that could easily be painted, the floors are all made of planks, nailed down to the ground. The ceilings have visible beams, partially for structure, partially for appearances. The den itself had various couches, chairs, and little tables, big enough for everyone to sit and then some. This was the common area, where Peter hoped people would collect, gather, have fun. There was a giant pile of board games, including checkers, chess, puzzles, and some more modern games he had gotten like Apples to Apples. When you enter each house, you are greeted with three doors, to the three rooms each house contained. All can hear one another from their room. The imaginary bedrooms were large enough to house five comfortably and contained two bunk beds, and one spare bed, all twin mattresses. A large shelf was placed on the wall next to each bed for storage. Each room had one candelabra fitted with battery operated candles. Spare batteries can be found in the den, as well as in each room. |
