Kestriel stared at the holo screen with a sigh and rubbed the back of her neck. She had been here for a few months, but she still wasn't entirely used to seeing the propaganda for the First Order. Maybe it was because she had held onto a bit of naive hope that thousands of years in the future the galaxy would have evolved past such conflicts. Logically though, she knew better. Like the Force, the galaxy had a balance to itself. A light side to the dark. It was a part of nature she supposed, one that had to be battled continuously. It hurt to see the Jedi Order all but non existent, to know that everything she had lived through was nearly forgotten. And yet the Republic still stood, continuously at odds with Imperials. Different names, different faces, but all too familiar.
The Jedi master leaned back in her seat, at least grateful that she had arrived here with both her ship and her protocol droid, C2-N2. It was a welcome familiarity to have as she acclimated to this universe and everything that differed from the time she knew. Her Defender was also a safe haven as she tried to mask her presence in the Force, something she had almost decided to avoid but in the end she thought it best to keep her presence hidden until she knew exactly what she was up against. Though she did step in to deter minor altercations on the planets she had stopped by to resupply on, she did so without using her lightsaber or being too reckless with her powers. It wouldn't do her much good if she outed herself before she was ready. Besides, she had felt the need to look for any and all remnants of the old Jedi Order. She refused to believe that all of that knowledge was completely gone, despite how it appeared on the surface.
"Master, I have made sure that the escape pod is clean and ready for use should you ever need it." C2's voice broke through Kestriel's thoughts and she couldn't help but shake her head with a smile.
"Thank you, C2, but that really wasn't necessary." The Jedi rose from her seat and walked over to her companion. It had been the third time the droid had actually done so since their travels began here, but she supposed it kept C2 busy and made him feel useful, which was fine with her. As she neared him, she pat him on the shoulder, "But the effort is appreciated, my friend. I think I'll go and meditate, please let me know when we arrive at our destination."
"Of course, Master!" C2 said as she walked away, "Rest assured, you will hear from me immediately with the utmost of haste."
As Kestriel wandered off, she made a note to herself that she should check the holonet for some of the recent arrivals on Naboo later, it had been quite sometime since she had done so. Perhaps this time there would be one she recognized.
