River didn't have much of a taste of briefings, although she was cooperative enough to show up when they were absolutely necessary. This one had seemed less important than the ones leading directly up to a job, and she had planned on spending it in the engine room, listening to another tale in the ship's history. But when she'd sensed Diana's approach, her face had broken into a wide, lop-sided grin, and she'd quickly made her way down the ramp just in time for introductions.
Stopped at the foot of the ramp, she pushed up the goggles she'd been wearing to rest on top of her head, and act as a makeshift headband for her loose brown hair, as she wiped off some of the grease and grime she'd got on her hands. With a small wave to her Amazonian friend, she settled into one of the folding chairs where she could see everyone.
"We're lucky to have you, jie jie," River replied softly, after Diana was finished speaking. To the rest, she raised her voice so they could hear her better.
