To say Buffy was regretting her decision to meet with Alucard wouldn't be completely true. She regretted the fact she couldn't have proper back up or a massive fool proof plan. As it was, she knew this was a trap and prepared as best she could. She was suited up in dark blue duster and a black flexible but maneuverable body armor she'd gotten on Naboo recently, its material totally unknown to her but the woman she'd bought it from assured her it was strong enough to take most hits from guns and blasters. Not that she was too worried about blasters, they hurt like a bitch but she'd recovered pretty quickly from the last one that hit. It was bullets she really wanted to avoid. She was also armed with a new crossbow with custom made silver bolts, what few silver blades of varying size that she had managed to get so far and of course her Slayer Scythe. New to her arsenal was the gun belt Selene had sent her way along with the pair of Beretta 92FS machine pistols. Buffy wasn't really a gun person, it was just a personal preference not because she couldn't use them, but with fifty rounds with a liquid core of a colloidal silver suspension, Buffy couldn't deny that it might be helpful enough to ignore her personal distaste for guns and had strapped them on with the rest of her gear. Honestly, she was probably more decked out for this fight than she had been for any of the apocalypses she had faced over the years, yet she still felt like she wasn't armed enough.
She would have liked to have some trustworthy holy water, but she supposed the ones she'd gotten before she left Naboo the first time would have to do. She wasn't sure if they'd do the job, so she wouldn't put too much faith in the small bottles she had hidden away in the coat, but they were there just in case. Selene had also been generous enough to loan her a rocket launcher, which Buffy surprisingly didn't have on her, choosing to let Sarysi hang on to it for the best distraction or final attack before an escape. The vampire was hiding with a borrowed skiff, near the ship which was ready to leave at a moment's notice in the nearest clearing possible. Buffy even had a comm open with her crew just so they could keep track of her status, though she knew Sarysi could at least get a general feel of her with her own vampiric senses.
Despite being prepared for a fight with what gear she had, she was still going solo. Sarysi had tried to talk her into letting her be right there beside her, but Buffy wasn't about to let her go against Alucard. Yes, the Cathar was a vampire, but she didn't have nearly as strong as a vibe of power as the actually unliving legend waiting. Buffy needed to be focused on Alucard and without getting killed, not watching over someone else who she didn't want at risk. So the best thing Buffy could do was convince Sarysi and the droids to be on standby, ready to swoop in for a last minute evac... or if the worst happened, to deliver the news to Selene and the Jedi. It was a shame she hadn't gotten to them yet, but Buffy couldn't in good conscious put off doing this, not if there was even a sliver of a chance Alucard found a different target. She would just need to improvise with her new abilities as best she could.
It didn't take her long to find Alucard, even if the forest wasn't her favored terrain. Hell, she didn't even really need the coordinates; all she had to do was follow her senses once she had a general direction to go in. Of course, once she spotted him any hopes she may have had about everything being fine and this was just him wanting to avoid prying eyes went flying toward the nearest black hole. His appearance was one she didn't expect and she held her one handed crossbow aloft in front of her ready to fire. Her eyes narrowed and put up all the guards she could, not wanting to get knocked out by a physical or psychic attack.
"Gotta say, not too crazy about the look," she said with an oddly chipper voice. All she needed was some bubblegum to go with it, "Stylish yes, but it also looks like Hot Topic vomited all over you. I mean, seriously. Come on. You're better than that."
