Who: Alucard and Buffy What: An unwilling operative sets a trap. When: After this and this. Where: Naboo Warnings: Probable vampire + vampire slayer violence.
Alucard went to ground immediately once Glasya set him loose upon the unsuspecting population of Naboo. The man had set no deadline for the capture of a being who had arrived through the rift, and Alucard intended to delay completion of the orders for as long as he was able. For several days, he sent no word to anyone. He lurked in the shadows of spaceports and cantinas, of side streets and forests, and fought the urge to hunt. He placated the compulsion laid over him with half-truths and twisted logic. One target was too weak, another too strong. With each denial of Glasya's orders, Alucard felt the pain in his mind intensify, until he felt as though his skull were being cleft in twain by a blessed silver blade.
And then, one night, he succumbed. It was not a conscious decision. He simply no longer had the strength to defy the will laid over him, crushing his own. Alucard transmitted coordinates and a simple message to Buffy Summers. Meet me in the forest.
Clad in the leathers that had once bound him in the cellar of the Hellsing manor for twenty years, his hair bleached white, Alucard stood beneath the trees, and silently willed the vampire slayer to leave his missive unanswered.
