"It's quite all right," Xiria said. She pulled out two shuura fruits from her bag, rolling one over to Jean. "In case you didn't get the chance to eat before coming here. It's sweet and juicy."
The lesson would go much better if Jean had eaten recently and didn't have that impacting her ability to focus. Already, Xiria could see the signs of sleep deprivation. Was it that the mental voices made it difficult for the girl to sleep? Or was it simply being in a strange galaxy and knowing nobody? That would be distressing in and of itself.
"So. Your abilities." There was no point in beating around the bush, even if Xiria didn't want to admit to her own Force sensitivity. "It's very rare but not unheard of for people to have similar sorts of abilities in this galaxy. Not exactly the same as yours, but close enough that I believe I'll be able to help you to some extent. I'm a scholar and a distant relative of mine had special talents - mental ones. It's referred to as Force sensitivity, here."
Even with focusing her mind on the ocean's steady rhythm, Xiria could feel Jean's fear and loneliness. It reaffirmed that she'd made the right choice in offering to come here to help.
"There are meditation exercises that may help you. Either to build walls to block all of it out, or at the very least to control the way the voices flow into your mind - essentially making it more on your terms."
