Selene/Open
"Well, child, you are certainly a mess."
Most vampires could move with some sort of more than human speed, usually an offshoot of their enhanced strength. A Corvinus-line vampire had that ability. When Selene had been one, before her evolution, she had been able to move quickly enough that only a human with extremely keen eyesight would have been able to see any more than the black blur of her Death Dealer uniform passing by. A Corvinus hybrid was faster. Much, much faster. So fast that to most other vampires she seemed to be able to teleport.
Her twin blasters twitched into line and she fired a pair of accurate shots at the approaching bat, ignoring the wielder. Then she moved. Shoulder down, she simply ran straight for Cassie. One of newer members of her line back on Earth had been accountant. She really liked numbers. She had done the calculations once for the fun of it, analyzing how much force was in a Selene bodyslam, going by how much damage she could do. Judging by how far and high she could loft a van by running into it, the numbers came out as somewhere around two hundred tons of impact from a two-meter acceleration.
Selene had seen other undead - mostly vampires - bounce around the room like a billiard ball after that sort of impact. Those who weren't blown apart by the force of the strike, anyway.
She came to a stop on the other side of the pool of light and waited to see what was next.
