Re: Selene/Open
If Cassie had still been alive, her mind would have reached for a smart-aleck reply toward the vampire's monologue. As it was, the slasher merely stepped forward, dragging her bloody bat along with her. The nails raked against the flooring; her shattered knee hobbled her steps, but at the sight of it, it was fairly clear that she shouldn't have been able to walk on the leg at all. The gas mask covering her face hid whatever emotion she might have felt toward the name dropping of her former friend, or of the decision that had been laid before her.
She paused at the edge of a pool of light, cascading down over her form and throwing shadows that only accentuated the dead pallor of her skin.
"You had a choice. You chose." She let the words sink in, as though they'd have any meaning to the other party, before she threw herself at the interloper to her chosen territory. Cassie raised the abused bat, striking forward in a display of speed that should have been impossible. She brought the weapon toward the vampire, striking out at the woman's head.
