Buffy & Selene
Was she talking about siring her? Buffy's mask was back in play, not wanting to offend Selene with the shudder she instinctually wanted to react with. Becoming a vampire, even one with perks like hers, was still on Buffy's 'nope' list. As in hell no not going to happen anytime soon nope. "Definitely going to have to pass on that option at this point. Probably not a good idea. With my luck, I go home with the shiny add ons and I'll have broken some weird rule or jumpstarted an apocalypse for carrying it over from another reality." Now that she was thinking about it, she honestly would not find that surprising. She grimaced, her thought train ready to leave the station so she tried to make light of it. "Or I'd just make a bunch of people jealous and never hear the end of it. I can just see my sister complaining about it already."
"..I've fought a hell goddess and the embodiment of all evil and my best friend almost destroyed all of creation. Stop apocalypses on a regular basis. Doesn't mean I can win every fight and it also helped that I wasn't always alone. Even if I did the heavy lifting." She suddenly felt the need to shrug. "But those powers of Alucards... I could feel it all over him. Like wrapped around, layer upon layer. It's just... damn, you know?" The blonde shook her head, not able to find the right words to describe it, so she didn't really try. "I'll keep an ear out for magicy types that I think are trustworthy. I haven't met any I would put my faith in for this. Too many variables and unknown agendas for my liking." She paused. "You aren't much more of monster than most of us. I'm a predator, yeah, but Slayers have some demon in them, so we're just as capable of being in the monster spectrum depending on what morons we're dealing with. Hell, if they want to see you as a monster, I doubt they're going to be much help in trying to save Alucard if it gets that far."
"But the Jedi thing, eh. I'm not big on the religious sounding parts of it, but they seem to deal with mind powers and that would be ideal to help protect or help Alucard if anything goes wrong. Other than that, I'm only really interested in not killing people with my brain and maybe getting one of those neat light swords of theirs." Flippant sounding, but true and Buffy didn't hide the basic idea of it. It all sort of worked out for her in theory so far. In practice, she'll have to wait and see.
She offered the woman a genuine smile. Even if it was as complicated as hell, it really was a relief for her to not be alone. "I appreciate it, really. I also promise to give your offers some serious consideration. Some of them just take commitments I'm not sure I can make yet. But believe me; if I do need help, I'm going to ask. Loudly. But with great style." Buffy wore a wry smile now, "I'll go it solo if I have to, but I'm old enough and have enough experience at this point to know when to call for backup. Being stubborn is just going to get people killed."
