Buffy & Selene
"I know a lot of vamps back home that would kill to have your version." She paused, a thoughtful frown on her lips. "But then again if they were like you, they wouldn't be soulless or dead." Buffy shrugged that train of thought away, not wanting to go too far into the what if rabbit hole before it really started. "But those perks, yeesh. I actually wouldn't mind at least two of vampires back home having those perks."
"I haven't crashed yet, so I'm doing better with the ship than a car," Buffy pointed out with a grin. "So that's pretty good progress already!"
Buffy looked at the chip in her hand with a frown. While her guard wasn't completely down, she doubted it ever would be in this galaxy, she let a bit of the tension go as she sat down in the offered chair. Damn it, Alucard, what was going on lately? "I'll have it installed as soon as I get back to the ship." Her frown didn't fade though as the chip vanished into one of the hidden pockets on her dress.
She found herself pinching the bridge of her nose, wishing she had glasses like Giles so she could fiddle with them as a distraction. "Yeah, until you I was the only one that knew. I didn't want him to do it. I don't like and I think it's too risky for everyone. If they turn him or he loses himself it would be a blood bath." She stared straight at Selene and shook her head. "If it happens, I have to stop him. But he's good. I mean, I've fought a lot of things, saved the world stopped apocalypses... but he's got a scary amount of power. I'm not afraid to die, done it twice, but I'm not sure I'd beat him without back up."
"Best case would be if I found a magic user I trusted or someone from home showed up that could reinforce those seals of his or whatever it is they could do. But neither of those options are a reality yet, so I was going to meet some of those Jedi for help if it happened. I mean, I have to see them for personal reasons now too, but it gives me the chance to feel them out and ask them for help if it comes to it."
She hated this. While there was a little bit less weight on her now because she wasn't the only one that knew, this was still a responsibility she wasn't happy with. Insane or not, she genuinely liked Alucard. She didn't want to kill him any more than she had all the other times her friends and loved ones went dark. Seriously, what was up with that anyway? Was she just a magnet for that kind of person? Because she was really starting to notice the trend. "Of course he wants us to. We're probably the only ones he respects enough to trust to do it. We're predators, like he is. And he's not wrong. At this point, we're probably the best options." Buffy sighed loudly. "But he's also really stupid if he thinks that I'm not going to try other ways to help him first."
