Selene and Kurama
The remark about trees earned a genuine laugh. "You might be surprised." Kurama tucked a long lock behind his ear. He could easily envision Hiei's smirk if his partner were there. How he missed that familiar, if often sullen, presence at his side. But Hiei's response to Kurama's interest in the Resistance would be much like Selene's. Survive first. Worry about the rest later. The younger youkai would only bother to set fire to the First Order if Kurama pushed him to it.
Selene was slightly more amenable than Hiei. She certainly lacked his self-destructive streak. That gave Kurama hope. "I know of a woodsman or two. I'll pass the information along. There may be small jobs here and there, tasks less dangerous than felling an entire forest."
He would leave the topic for now, still curious about Selene herself. "If I may, how long have you been fighting?"
