Re: Claire & Cloud
Cloud endeavored to conceal a smirk as the being in charge of the Wookie brandy handed him his glass with a shake of the head. The mako-enhanced swordsman appeared human enough that most people in this universe assumed his limits were also human. They had been, once upon a time, but those days were long over. Cloud doubted the brandy would so much as give him a light buzz. He'd ordered it more out of an appreciation for a well-crafted drink than any intention to get drunk. To reassure the server, he raised his glass, then took a healthy sip before walking off, clearly unaffected by the alcohol.
He didn't know if he'd find anyone familiar here. He'd come mostly to familiarize himself with faces from the Rift he hadn't seen before. Cloud was an often solitary man, and that served him well in a place so far away from his family and friends. Still, even the famously withdrawn and quiet former infantryman needed some company. He lingered at the edge of the crowd, Mako-lit eyes scanning the group for a familiar face, even as his sensitive ears registered their complaints at the loud music.
