Jael & Selene
Still stepping lightly to the music as she circulated, Selene caught sight of one of the people she had hoped to speak with either at the party or later. Even if she really didn't have much of a 'pitch'. Catching Jael's eye, she moved closer and lifted her latest glass of Wookie brandy in greeting.
Taking a quick glance at the purple and chrome cybernetic legs, she raised one eyebrow. "Well, girl, I've told a few people to bring their dancing shoes, but you've really outdone yourself. To quote the bloke who taught me modern English, looks like you've had a bit of a bother." Selene's vampire-enhanced hearing was acute enough that she could navigate a pitch-black room with the echoes of her own heartbeat. It was second nature to use the reflecting sound of the music to take a deeper 'look' at Jael. Cybernetics had a different sound image than human bone. "Part of an arm, too? I'm guessing not one of your better days. Other than the obvious, how have you been?"
She could only imagine what the other woman had been going through, and yet Jael had walked into the party like it was being thrown in her honor. Selene had to admire that. Humans weren't like her where getting shot in the head was an irritation, and having her heart and spine run through by Marcus was an inconvenience that had healed almost instantly.
