"The Force is very hard to explain," Mika said. "and there are people who fear it, fear that those who can sense it will take over. It's happened before, people who were Force sensitive manipulated it in such a way that they took over the galaxy and many people died." She'd heard the stories, most of them from Milo and none of them had made her want to tell anyone what she could do. "There is a group now known as the First Order, they are trying to take over. They've recently destroyed the seat of government for the Republic and they are looking for Force users, they want no one who might stand in their way." She shook her head. "I know looking in this box is a risk but I have to know if it's still there."
She reached for the box and turned it over. There was a false bottom that slid open and she still remembered exactly where the latch was. Then again maybe the box was leading her to it, it certainly felt that way. Mika slid back the panel and took a deep breath. It was there and she lifted it out, turning it over in her hand.
"Whoever found it must not have checked for secret compartments," she murmured or this would have been destroyed. It looked like a piece of gold metal with a few small colorful stones around the top but it was far more than that. Mike looked up at Wanda. "This is a light saber. It was the weapon of a Jedi Knight. My friend was one of the few that wasn't killed by the Emperor who used to rule the galaxy." She stood up and pushed the button, the snap-hiss sounding loud in the small apartment, the blue blade illuminating the room. "People who aren't Force sensitive can use them but not in the way someone who is can. Most light sabers respond best to the ones who made them, each Jedi made his or her own but Milo taught me a few things with this one." she turned it off and sat back down. Picking up the box again, she looked once more in the bottom and pulled out a small notebook. It was a journal that he'd kept of their time together, he'd told her that she was to keep it if something every happened to him.
"Thank you," she said to Wanda, brushing away a tear. "I never thought to see these things again. Milo meant a lot to me, he was like a grandfather. I was frightened of what I could do, my mother had always told me I had to hide but he showed me there was much more to the Force than what I knew."
