When Mika had seen the box online, she had been stunned. It had been years since she'd seen it and she'd wondered what had happened to it. She remembered many days spent with Milo, the old Jedi who lived by the lake, listening to his tales about his life while he helped her to understand her own gifts, how to control them and more importantly, how to hide them.
The box had belonged to him and before that to his father. It had passed down through the years but the journey ended with Milo. He had no children and had promised the box to Mika but on the day that Mika and Koda had arrived at the house and discovered that Milo was dead, the box was nowhere to be found. They had searched everywhere that it could possibly be with no success. Someone had to have been there when he died but who could it have been? Mika would never forget that day, not only because of finding Milo's body but also because she'd see what the Force could do. When she had touched the old man's body, he'd begun to shimmer and then he was gone, leaving his clothes behind. For a few years after his death, she had seen him, had talked to him, he'd explained that when a Jedi died, he became one with the Force and could appear as a Force ghost but Mika hadn't seen him in the last ten years.
Now it seemed that his box had come home. The box that had held many things but most importantly his light saber. She wondered if it was still there and what tales the box could tell so she'd contacted the person who'd posted the ad and arranged a meeting. They were meeting at Mika's apartment. It was public enough not to arouse suspicion but also private enough that they no one would know what they were doing. She ws on her feet as soon as she sensed her guest's arrival but waited until the door chimed before she went to the door.
"Hello," she said with a smile when she opened the door. "I'm Mika Corliss. Please come in."
