"Oh, it's short for, 'Buy One, Get One free'. Buy a pair of shoes or whatever is on sale and get another or whatever it says for free." She let out a wistful sigh, allowing herself to briefly have some fond memories of the sales she used to adore. "I miss the mall..." The last time she had gone to one was before Sunnydale became a crater. That had been a good mall too. Christmas shopping, dress shopping, shoes, using a rocket launcher... good times.
Wanda's ship almost had Buffy feeling ship envy, if that was a thing. It felt more comfortable than her own, but it was possibly because Buffy still wasn't used to it and Wanda's held a lived in feeling. She shook her head at anything offered to her, not wanting to impose and she was fine as is. She had a canteen of the closest thing to an iced mocha she could find so far with her that was more than enough. Besides, the distracted air about Wanda had Buffy's attention more than anything else. This must be really serious.
She studied her, not the way she would as a Slayer, as Wanda didn't feel like prey to any of her senses, but in concern. She really wished here weird off and on empathy thing was of some use now. Anything Buffy was reading off of Wanda right now could easily be figured out just by understanding people. Stupid senses. It always seemed to boil down to the vagueness of stuff and she hated cryptic vague happenings. It was stall tactic of the universe.
The question caught her off guard, enough so that Buffy looked as confused by it as she felt. She pulled it together though and nodded. "I do. A younger sister. Her name's Dawn." The sudden question made the wheels turn and she remembered one of their early conversations involving resurrection. Wanda had lost someone that much she knew; could that be what this was about? "I died for her once." For some reason it sounded strange to say that out loud. It wasn't as though she hadn't said it before. It didn't sound hollow, just oddly factual, but Buffy knew there was a hint of loss weaved into it. A selfish kind of loss for what she'd had taken from her when she was brought back. She pushed it down as far as it would go so she could make the present her priority again. This wasn't the time for her own dramas. "Why?"
