Buffy had found herself oddly enjoying Tenebris. Oh sure, it had some problems of the fanged variety but it had an energy to it that Buffy was starting to like, even if the whole twice as long nights made her wary. Maybe it was because of the flaws that she liked it. The Slayer in her would probably be pretty damn content here if there were more vampires around. When her thoughts turned to vampires, she thought of her new shipmate, or in most people's opinion, prisoner.
Sarysi, who Buffy discovered was a Cathar, hadn't put up a fuss at all since the new arrangement came to life. It would have been suspicious, and maybe it still was, but Buffy's instincts, or maybe it was empathy, seemed to believe otherwise. But she was still cautious, taking care to keep her guard up. Surprisingly though, Sarysi was calm now that she was away from the casino and welcome to any conversations Buffy started. There were times where she would grow morose, but it was usually when her sire was mentioned and that was an understandable reason to get somber even from Buffy's perspective. Buffy still had plenty of questions, but one of the main things she had learned was that Sarysi really didn't want to talk about the one that got away. There was genuine fear in her eyes when the topic was brought up. The few times Buffy had brought her up, Sarysi would freeze up and no matter how pleasant a conversation had been going before was, it would end right then and there. It had her wonder if there was a compulsion or something keeping her from talking. If the escapee was a strong one, and signs were pointing to yes, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.
Of course that always made her feel a little guilty and sometimes when Buffy felt bad she had to overcompensate or just throw herself into something to clear her head. Usually it was training or slaying, today it was shopping. Supply wise, she was fine, but she honestly hadn't had a real chance to browse for fun since Naboo and frankly she was pretty sure she deserved it. She had managed to keep herself from not overexerting herself as she healed and like she expected she had recovered well. Being stabbed was definitely worse than being shot by a blaster in her book, but both still sucked. So some shopping therapy was sure to help her out. Of course, it would have been better if she didn't keep finding things she would love to give Dawn or anyone else. It sucked to have that emotional wind knocked out of her just because her first thought was that Dawn would love it.
So color her relieved when Wanda's familiar voice rang out as she walked down the street. She turned her head to look around and when she caught a glimpse of Wanda she headed over, feeling better about coming out here after all. "Wanda!" She waved and did a small hop to show the woman had caught her attention and because it was also because her lack of height allowed her to easily get lost in a crowd, especially one with a variety on Tenebris. She was glad that Wanda hadn't left just yet, she would have understood, but Buffy selfishly wanted to hang on to anyone she met that she liked, just in case they vanished on her like she probably did to everyone at home. She could do alone, really.. but she didn't want to if she had a choice.
Buffy hadn't expected that once they were in step with each other, but she did in fact remember. She'd meant it then and in her book it was always an open offer. Throwing her own mental baggage to the curb she gave Wanda her full attention. "Of course I do. Whatever it is you need me to listen for, or anything else, I'm available. What's on your mind?"
