"Trust me, diplomacy was drilled into me as soon as I spoke my first word," Diana answered, with a dry laugh. "The only child of a singular queen, and expected to rule in her place someday? I feel as if my mother's ghost watched me this very moment." She took a delicate sip of her tea, before setting the cup down.
"I've been reading on Naboo history; so much that I despaired of rising from bed this morning," she admitted, still humored. "The society has already developed a largely benign answer to newcomers, despite their prior wars with the Gungans, so I think they might have been very suited to such a thing. I imagine that on another world, this rift might have turned into a military machine." That revelation to her was grim, once she realized it. But one didn't experience such atrocities as Apokolips and not understand how it came about. "They could be testing, or worse, enslaving newcomers and thankfully that has not come to fruition. Now that they have several decades of protocol in place, I think it is unlikely that it ever will." Her brighter mood returned, as she continued, "I don't mind adapting to the environment I am in, and this one is especially easy. Space travel is as different as night and day to where I am from, but not the diversity of cultures. The only drawback is, of course, missing my people....and a few friends."
