Klaus swallowed back a snarl, working to rein in his temper. Raw anger and brute force wasn't the way out of this situation. Patience and wit were just as useful and they were things Klaus had just as much experience with. "The Mikaelsons are the most powerful family of supernatural creatures that has ever existed," he informed her arrogantly. "No foe has ever bested us and anyone who has ever dared try their luck has ended up decimated at our feet." It was the truth. Klaus had never come across a single entity that had been able to leave him defeated for long. He was immortal - even those who sought to wield that which could kill him had never succeeded.
"You can keep your coils wrapped around me for as long as you like, but when it's all said and done, I'll be the one that remains," he pointed out. The only creatures he'd ever met with a lifespan like his were vampires and Klaus figured she was probably as mortal as anything else. Even vampires, apart from his own family, had an expiration date - they could eventually be killed while he could not.
