Wanda pursed her lips, unconvinced by Buffy's smile when she said she was fine, but there was a ring of truth in the statement about having had worse, and the way she held herself didn't seem too badly hurt. "If you are certain," Wanda said. It was actually sort of nice to leave everything to Buffy's judgment.
She nodded thoughtfully at the list of things Buffy could learn from the vampire -- "Be careful not to rely too much on her word," she advised, but it wasn't expressed urgently. She was sure Buffy would have thought of that.
The question of money got Wanda's attention, and made her wonder if it was pride or fear that kept the two survivers from accepting the offer. She sighed, thinking of fear, and turned her gaze away for a moment. She supposed that she should be happy that they had defeated the vampires -- they had won, hadn't they? -- but when she looked at those two... But at least they were alive. That was something.
She smiled at them, a little wavery because she couldn't seem to stop thinking about... victims. The ones that got saved, and the ones that didn't, and the ones that died saving someone.
"Do you need any help?" she asked them, straightening, looking at them, one after the other, forcing her thoughts away to concentrate on the moment. This moment, these people in front of her. "Getting somewhere safe, or...anything?"
And to Buffy, "Is that what you think we should do?" she asked. She was only a novice at vampire hunting, after all.
