Buffy had plenty of misgivings about this, even if she was trying hard not to show it. But she also knew her vampires. If she could allow Spike to live as long as she did even without a soul just because he was chipped, she could at least give this vampire a chance. It would be on her terms, yes, but she could do it. Sarysi also held in her a wealth of information Buffy wanted. Intel about the escapee who she had a gut feeling would actually bite her in the ass later and of course on what kind of vampire she was. Forewarned is forearmed or something like that.
It was Buffy's understanding that Wanda had been around a lot longer than she had when it came to this galaxy, but from Buffy could tell in the time she had been here, there were plenty of ways to interpret Sarysi's 'usually' comment. And while it was a struggle to try and avoid looking at things in black and white, the Slayer was trying. In the end, what she could control was her own decisions and what lines to cross or avoid completely.
Wanda's question brought her out of her thoughts and she instinctively glanced down at her wound. It hurt, but it wasn't going to cripple her or really even hinder her much. "I'm fine. It took me more by surprise than anything." Buffy smiled cheerfully to hopefully help reassure her. "Besides, I've had worse." Yeah, it was called death. But really, on a list of injuries she'd had over the years, this one was honestly not comparable to a good chunk of them.
"I could learn the differences between her and the vamps from home for one thing." Buffy replied as she spared a look around the room and reached out with her senses. Still no sensing the escaped vampire. Sarysi was the only vampire in the vicinity. "Find out how far into the rabbit hole this goes… And if she's really a smuggler, maybe she can help provide some monetary compensation for what these two have been through." She gave the Togruta and the other girl a sympathetic look. "It can't make up for anything you've gone through, but it might help you in other ways if you need it."
Sarysi didn't appear to be too phased by that. "They can have one of Ellken's credit accounts." She just looked plain tired now as if she just didn't have anything left in her now that she wasn't arguing for her life. "He won't need it anyway."
The Togruta was hesitant, but her companion whispered something and the pair quietly conversed before both nodding their heads. She stood up, pulling the girl up with her, and apparently any injuries she had suffered were either superficial in nature or she was stronger than she looked. "We don't want it." She let the girl clutch onto her arm as a comforting presence. "We just want to get out of here."
Sarysi seemed surprised by that but she remained quiet. Honestly though, Buffy couldn't blame them. A lot of people in Sunnydale had been like that, where they just tried to ignore or put aside what had happened to them. They had to be if they were going to live on a hellmouth. It was easier to pretend nothing was wrong if you didn't keep any reminders of it all.
Buffy looked over at Wanda. "Sarysi's the only vampire on my radar now, so we can bail if you want." Sure, she wanted to stick around and search, but she couldn't do that while vamp sitting. She could always improvise and find her way back up here if she really wanted to later.
