It wasn't a life threatening injury, Buffy had definitely had worse, but it still hurt like a son of a bitch. She too winced at the sight of the vamp roman candle, but there was also pain fueling it. Buffy knew she'd feel it for a little while longer which really sucked. But she flashed Wanda a grateful and appreciative smile for her fiery display "Thanks!" She was really starting to like Wanda's powers. "That was pretty awesome."
There was only one vampire still standing. The only one not to have really fought, and even now had her hands up in the air as if someone her aiming a gun at her. Considering how both Buffy and Wanda were living weapons it wasn't that far off of a comparison. She had a thin layer of fur and feline features, reminding Buffy one of those catpeople she saw in a comic book of Xander's or Andrew's. But despite Buffy's senses screaming at her that this woman was still very much undead and a vampire, she felt different somehow. It was subtle, but not something Buffy thought was because the vampire was another species. The other so far had still felt like any other vampire to her, but this one... it was weird. A little off putting as she wasn’t expecting it.
"Please, don't kill me!" The vampire spoke in English, or common or whatever the universal language that always going to be English to Buffy, but her words were a little halting as though it were a second or third language. "I'm not like they were!"
Buffy stepped forward, but not toward the vampire."You. Stay. Move and you end up like the rest." She then went toward the injured pair who had gotten together during the fight and were huddled close. They seemed to have taken the time put some makeshift bandages on themselves, but Buffy was still going to get them to a doctor if possible. They spoke quiet words of reassurance to each other and would often cast looks at the two women that had saved them. "You're going to be okay, we're not going to let anyone else hurt you."
There was one confused expression and Buffy sighed inwardly. Stupid language barrier. But then one of them spoke to the other, as if translating. The one that hadn't originally understood started almost smiling, gratitude filling her eyes. Buffy offered a smile of her own and then headed over to the vampire who had stayed put as ordered.
"So, make your case." The Slayer's eyes narrowed, her grip tightened on the scythe, and she stared hard at the felineish vampire.
"My name is Sarysi Mosis. My sire came from Naboo," she replied slowly, trying to find the right words. "We're vampires, but not like them." The disgust at the word 'them' was hard to miss. "They breed worse than gizka and they're never satisfied with anything. My sire and I were," there was a slight pause, "Smugglers. But we came here for a few laughs, maybe get some easy credits. But we lost one too many times and they were the ones in charge. We were told that we either join up with them or we die." She spat at the ground in the direction of flambéed remains. "My sire refused. Ellken... he thought he could take them but they ripped him apart like a nest of starving rancors." She gave them a pleading look and Buffy was actually thinking Sarysi was on the level. "I just want to get on my ship and get out of this hell hole."
Buffy spared a moment to look over at Wanda. It could easily be a lie, no question. But Sarysi really did feel different to her slayer senses. It was different than what she felt from Alucard as well, which made Buffy think that she was just a different breed of vampire. She was nowhere near giving off a sense of power like Alucard had, but it was enough difference to make Sarysi stand out from the soulless kind Buffy knew all too well. She would be taking a risk if she let her go, but then Buffy didn't feel like woman was lying. If anything, she felt more like the vampire was actually relieved at their arrival and handiwork, which wouldn't surprise her if Sarysi had a hidden agenda. Except Buffy wasn't feeling that vibe off of her. It was one thing to outright slay a soulless vampire, but it was another to just execute someone on a possibility. Crap. "What do you think, Wanda?"
