Buffy knew that it was highly likely that her quips were going to waste, but that was never really the point of them anyway. It was just another tool to help distract her enemies. It was almost comical at how easily some of the monsters could get flustered or caught by surprise by the random and snark. She had a feeling that she would have to start learning what passed for pop culture in this galaxy to really maximize her efforts, so she decided to make a mental note of that just as she heard Wanda cry out. Her scythe ready, she was glad to see that Wanda was okay, though she looked a little worse for wear in Buffy's opinion, but even more interesting was that Wanda had a present for her!
She dodged out of way of another alien vampire and with a couple of swings she made quick work of the immobilized vamps. She hoped that would give Wanda a moment to breathe, because by her count that should be four- and then a quick recount told her that it was actually only three. She assumed Wanda had gotten one and there was still no sign of the one that had vanished, so odds were really looking good.
It was at that point the remaining vampires realized just how few of them there were. One looked hesitant at pursuing an attack, deciding to stay put as the other two took a chance on attacking Buffy and Wanda. The one headed in Wanda's direction found it blocked off when Buffy leapt over a sofa and then drop kicked her hard enough to actually make her rethink her vampiric life choices. There was a flicker of a wish that she had just stayed a dancer but it was gone once she felt the scythe meet her neck.
There were two left if her math worked... and then came the unfamiliar sound of a blaster being fired. Buffy moved, but still cried out when the heat of the blast burned into her side and glared at the vampire aiming a blaster at her. "Seriously? That's just cheating!"
