Wanda was glad that someone was taunting the tauntable, because if she were to do it, it would have come out in Sokovian, which she knew no one else in this entire galaxy had any chance of understanding. She wasn't actually sure she was quite catching the nuances of Buffy's words -- when she learned English, she'd made a point of seeking out and learning idioms, and at times she made a point of trying to use what she knew, but just now, some of Buffy's words were a bit beyond her.
She hoped the vampires were confused too. Confused and frightened, after seeing many of their number fall so quickly.
Wanda maintained the barriers she'd created, tried to keep track of the vampires and Buffy, but she didn't have a lot of attention to spare. Everything moved quickly, and while her barriers and power blasts seemed to be working in keeping her clear of attacks, and she realized that reacting wasn't good enough. She was static here, she was making herself into an easy target.
The vampires realized that too, and just about that time one of them realized that Wanda's imitation fire wasn't quite as good as it seemed. A couple of the remaining vampires -- Wanda held an image of groups and locations in her mind, but she wasn't counting -- rushed through the barrier, avoiding Buffy to go for Wanda.
Wanda snapped a shield up in front of herself just in time, channeled more power into all the barriers that she'd set up, trying to accomplish though sheer force what illusion had failed. The vampires clawed against the shield; it might not hold them for long.
Cornered, stuck... Wanda expanded her shield, pushing away the vampires to give herself a bit more room, and then pushed harder with her powers; with the amount of power she was channeling, she almost felt like she was on fire. She flipped herself up into the air: the ceiling looked like a more maneuverable space than the floor. As she passed the leading vampire attacking her, she realized it was the exact same alien species as the one she'd killed earlier, and she grabbed a stake and in the moment that she had to drop her shield, used her power to send it home in its heart. Dust.
No longer immediately threatened, Wanda took a second to breath -- she was almost light-headed -- and then evaluated the situation from above. She was getting tired, but this wasn't over yet. She formed her power into a net to try to capture vampires and throw them to Buffy to dispose as she'd said she would. There were few enough now that she felt like it could be done.
She had to spread her net of power wide because vampires were so fast, and her first cast missed, but her second immobilized a pair of them. "Buffy!" Wanda called, preparing to continue when Buffy was ready.
