Buffy had momentarily forgotten that she wasn't with one of the Scoobies and it struck her hard that this might not be nearly what Wanda had been expecting. She winced inwardly, remembering her own introduction to the supernatural. It hadn't been fun but it also wasn't quite as bad as this. "Not exactly uncommon for them to do," her voice was still low, a practiced tone when sneaking about. "We're just happy meals on legs to most of them." A cold statement, but it was one of the more truth filled ones she'd gotten from Spike, even before he was ensouled.
She continued to carefully inspect the body, mostly taking note of the different bite marks on the prone form. There was a good variety, some she recognized as fangs from the vampires she was used to, but there were many that didn't match them. "Hmm... lot of vamps here. At least half of these are different from each other. Could be aliens that got turned, or alt vampires. Kinda hard to say on bite marks alone though." She had just finished her wannabe CSI moment when her instincts went on full alert. There was movement nearby, so quiet that even she almost missed it, but what she would never miss was that familiar feeling she got when there was a vampire nearby.
Her grip tightened on her scythe and she gave Wanda a silent look of warning, hoping she'd recognize to be ready, and cast another look around as she gestured for Wanda to hide. Beyond the dark room they were in, there were a set of double doors with a very dim light that could be seen in the cracks between the floor and doors. As if on cue though, she noticed a shadow pass under the door and she moved as quickly and stealthily as she could to nearby decorative pillar. It was large enough to hide behind, but it wasn't going to be a good spot long term.
The doors opened without much of a sound, followed by the lights coming on, and three figures sauntered in, chattering about something in a language Buffy didn't recognize. What she did recognize was the fact she didn't hear a single heart beating from any of them--and then she was forced to duck as the pillar shattered behind her, a fist smashing through in an attempt to hit her.
Well, lurking wasn't an option anymore and Buffy moved quickly, practically dancing around the ruined pillar before landing a kick to the figure that had attacked her. The green skinned humanoid alien found himself flung backward, knocking over a chair in the process. The other two aliens, one a reddish colored female Twi'lek, and the other a male Twi'lek with blue skin and an array of tattoos, cried out in surprise.
"Oops, my bad." Buffy shrugged and feigned innocence. "I don't suppose you'd want to talk this over and laugh about it over mochas later."
The pair still standing scowled and with a growl their faces shifted, their brow ridges more pronounced, and their eyes glowing a golden yellow. Their teeth were elongated and they quickly took it upon themselves to try and jump Buffy, who was ready to go on the defensive.
