Buffy's eyes widened slightly, obviously caught off guard by the forceful reaction. It wasn't that she had expected resistance to her advice but not that strongly. A person usually only reacted that way because of previous experience. But Buffy would pry about it later, when they weren't on the clock. "Okay then, I won't. I just wanted to give you a chance if you wanted out. Slayer stuff was pretty solo for generations," which was why so many of them died so quickly but Buffy didn't mention that. "I would understand, you know?"
"But for the record, I'm glad to have you at my back." She didn't know Wanda well or even for very long, but Buffy genuinely liked her. While it helped that Wanda didn't trigger any of Buffy's self preservation instincts, Buffy still just felt like Wanda was overall one of the good guys. "And I hope you know, you can feel free to talk to me about what bad is like... We can trade stories and feel really miserable because of them. But then we can go have some cathartic violence on evil to make ourselves feel better." Yeah, she was making a genuine offer, but she was also trying to bring some levity back. They'd probably need some to deal with a casino vamp bunny.
Getting up from her seat, Buffy gestured toward the exit and waited until Wanda moved with her before heading out. "I guess we're going to see what gambling is like around here. If this turns out anything like Vegas, I'm not going to regret the possibility of burning the place down." She paused, "Do they have slot machines in this galaxy?"
