"I can do it...bigger, too," Wanda said. She smiled, an uncomplicated memory coming back to her at Buffy's question. "They used to call me the Scarlet Witch, when I was first developing these powers. But I wouldn't really call it magic. The name was just...an acknowledgement."
Things had been simpler then, she thought, just for a moment feeling a little wistful, a little bit of fondness for that woman with so much to prove that she took on the name "witch" as a badge of pride.
But it wouldn't hurt her anything to pay more attention and prove a good vampire hunting student, she thought a moment later, and pulled her attention back to Buffy's explanation. "They act like people but don't care about hurting people..." she mused. Vampires reminded her of another bad guy she'd known. "Take them down fast, yes," she agreed. "I can do that."
She looked back at her chosen informant, and shrugged. "Just a hunch," she said, moving a step in that direction and then gesturing to Buffy to precede her. "You talk to them, I'll listen and keep watch on the rest of the bar?" she suggested.
