"But black does go with everything, so it still has benefits." Buffy tossed her hair over her shoulder and tried to figure out just how much of Cat's attitude was the act and what parts might be real. "I think there's actually more of us than we think, but I admit I don't exactly know everyone. Have you been here long?"
If Buffy had any notion of anyone wearing her face, that would definitely be a reason to get the violence on, but as it was, all she knew was that Cat was a very good actress and it was legitimately hard to read what motives were on the table. It was more than a little frustrating to her.
She frowned in thought, since the idea actually wasn't a bad one. "That actually wouldn't be a bad way to get more income around here. There's only so far budgeting what we get will go." The problem was, did she want to stay permanently? Could she still come and go if she started something like that? "I'll have to think about it. It's a pretty big commitment and there could be other people interested or more qualified to do it. Besides, for all we know, anything started won't last a day before more space dramas happen and ruin everyone's fun. God, I just found a decent shopping spot too, I don't think I can handle losing another one so soon if anything did happen."
"I think I feel about as safe as anyone else," Buffy shrugged, instinct telling to stay honest but guarded. It came off as a little more weary than anything though. She could work with that. "I've been shot and it's not a fun experience."
