"Something like that. I never really got into the whole belt thing, unless they matched my outfit." Buffy replied with an airy laugh. She took Cat's hand and gave it a light, but firm, shake, all while still trying to make a judgment call on her. "Buffy Summers from Sunnydale, California is me. Where are you from back home?"
She wasn't positive, but she was pretty sure she was being sized up as well, which really didn't sit well with her. But Buffy supposed it was only fair. There were plenty of reasons to want to know who was who these days. Refugees needed friends, needed to find out who to avoid, and there were probably some bad intentions involved too in some cases. It was just a matter of finding out what the case was here.
Buffy nodded, "Of course anyone. I've seen people of all types get the drop on others just because they had the right skills." That was true, she had seen people her size without powers take people on and win. Their techniques were some of her favorites, because slayer strength and agility tended to make those moves all the more efficient. "I don't know... I mean, I've never really thought about teaching anyone in general actually." Other than say, Dawn or potentials anyway. Besides, she was hesitant to commit to anything when she didn't know Cat's motivations yet. That and the fact the request was pretty unexpected. "You know, I'm kind of surprised they don't have something like that set up for us. If they do, I haven't heard about it yet. With so many people happy go lucky with the whole open carry policy, you'd think someone would have brought it up."
