She sensed someone approaching her, but Buffy hadn't expected that kind of reaction or introduction. But she offered the girl a smile as she sized her up behind the cheerful mask. "Oh, you know, martial arts and stuff. Been at it for years." It didn't matter too much about what her altercation revealed about her, Buffy was still more than happy to play it off for now. Even if it wasn't like she was really hiding, considering how easily to talked about things on the holonet.
The girl seemed genuine at first glance, but Buffy was pretty good at seeing a matching mask at times. Not that there was anything wrong with having one, especially here, but it was always a sign of something more beneath the surface. The question was always just what that something it was. It wasn't always a bad thing to keep your motives hidden if you didn't know anyone. "If you know the right moves and catch them by surprise, you can pretty much nail anyone like that."
There was something else different about her that Buffy could sense. It wasn't demonic in nature, but the girl wasn't an average human either. Though, really, that made no difference here since there were so many aliens and rifters around that it was hard to differentiate between everything for her right now. It was a lot easier for Buffy to just categorize everything as vampiric, necromantic, demonic, magical, human, and everything else. "I'm kind of surprised no one else really paid much attention to him."
