Sometimes Lois still wasn't entirely sure if this was a hell of a fever dream that had lasted too long or if Tess simply hit her harder than she had expected back at the Daily Planet. But since she had arrived here, she had already pinched her arm more than once, found that she was still very much awake, and had spent plenty of time staring at the vast expanse of space from a satellite station before exploring the local areas of Naboo after they were transported planet side. Lois had also gone through the Refugee Dispersion Program and was now the owner of her own ship, a couple of droids, and had a whole galaxy to explore. And while her need to get out and just do something was strong, she was instead currently sitting in a cantina not far from where her ship was and mulling over her drink, a drink she wasn't entirely sure what it was made of. On the plus side, she had already spoken to one of her new contacts, the one that had bought her the drink actually, about some areas she might find of interest, so at least Lois had some more things to cross off her list of things wanted before getting off planet.
Of course, that left Lois to her own thoughts now and sometimes that wasn't a good thing. With Smallville's timely arrival it had her questioning her plans slightly. On one hand, she wasn't the only one from Smallville around here now, which was a welcome thought. On the other, Clark was the freaking Red Blue Blur and she was feeling like a complete idiot for not noticing the signs sooner. There was that nagging voice in her head trying to feed her doubts because of it and it would be so easy to get lost because of it, but she was doing her best to avoid it. In fact, it was probably yet another good reason to just throw herself in her work, or rather her plans to work as the case may be. She took a swig of her drink and made a face at the bitter flavor. She hadn't expected that, but hey, it was alcohol and she really felt the need for it. Of course Ollie and Chloe had been in on Clark's secret. Naturally his parents were, and Lois was betting Lana probably knew too. So why had she been the one left in the dark? Was she not trustworthy enough? Was she-
"Nope, not thinking about it anymore," Lois muttered into her glass. A passerby glanced at her but then kept on moving, likely with the assumption that Lois was three sheets to the wind and talking to herself. They'd be half right, but drunk? Lois wasn't going to risk her ass just to work her way through a few bottles. She may have had too many thoughts swimming around but she had her fair share of drinking misadventures back home and that was enough for now. Who knew what trouble she'd get into if she over indulged here? Bar fights might not be too bad, but with how she was feeling at the moment she was probably more likely to accidentally drink herself to death. Not exactly an ideal option.
She pulled out her holo-device and began to absently surf as she people watched and tried her best to enjoy her drink. Distraction was needed and the noise of people around was a welcome white noise. Besides, maybe something interesting would happen. If not, no big loss. She'd already finished her main agenda of the night, so the rest of the evening was hers to waste.
