He followed her gaze up to the sky and just being out underneath it was enough to make him want to yell for joy. To think he could be sleeping under stars tonight--even if they weren't the stars he knew--was the happiest news he'd had in at least seven years.
But he was smart enough to realize that most people wouldn't be so happy about this and so he tempered his happiness with a discerning frown. "I'm Marcus," he finally introduced himself. There weren't going to be any 'wanted' posters around here, he was certain now. "Can you--can you lead me back to this camp of yours? Are newcomers welcomed? Figure there's only a limited amount of resources around here and I could always find my own way, but some help would be nice." He'd learned that in some situations, people preferred to look after themselves and only themselves; he could understand that.
