I thought we were friends! Who: Lucien and Nefertiti When: Day 24, Early evening Where: Still a little ways from camp What: Lucien struggles with his find and gets some help from an expert. Rating: G
In a short time, Luc had grown rather fond of the creature he'd found. He'd never really had a pet growing up, and he didn't have one back home because of how much he traveled. But already, Lucien could feel himself getting lonely, missing his crew. Thorne had been awfully nice and Lucien could see himself getting to know the other man, but it wasn't the same as home. The animal, however, was something to focus his attentions on, and something that he was pretty sure wouldn't judge him. Then again, every once in awhile, its bleats sounded very discerning, as if it was sizing Lucien up.
"Come here," he knelt down at the other end of the rope, holding out his hand full of some of the brush he'd seen the creature eat. "Come on," he clucked his tongue, made his voice sweet, did all sorts of things that were only met with the derision of the animal completely ignoring him. "I haven't managed to get a good look at you. Come!" When the goat simply grunted and trotted off in another direction, Lucien threw up his hands. "This is ridiculous."
