Entry tags:angelica, kenneth, z - 1st tribe - day 16

Open to one
Who: Kenneth and
Where: Near camp
When: Early morning
What: Testing his cart
Rating: Depends

Kenneth was up far before dawn as he usually was. The finding of the rest of his lost survival gear had sped up his cart idea by allowing him to use the finger saw to cut down some of the smaller climber trees. By pounding them a little flatter, he was able to make beds. The wheels were harder, but layering vines around a round trunk until they dried and coating them with resin and letting that dry again, he was able to get round wheels. Well, round enough at any rate. A smaller round rock approximately the same size as the "axle" he'd found gave him the interior of the wheels and then more climber vines made the spokes.

Now then...everything was done and he just had to put it together. Hopefully, he and Alex could use the cart to collect the bodies of the girls that had gone missing so they could give them a proper burial.

He put the flattened beds onto the axels and attached it with the braided grass that Thorne and some of the others had made then coated it with resin to hold better. Next he got the wheels on then "locked" them onto the axels with more grass cord and coated that with resin. Sides, he was still going to have to work on, but for now they'd just have to tie things to the carts. Finally, he attached the braided grass rope that would serve as the "harness" so people could pull the carts along.

A good two hours later he stood back to survey his work. When he heard footsteps, he called back without looking, "Think it'll work?"

Angelica had been out and about for the day, it was the best idea with the headache from hell. And it was the headache from hell. She'd never had one this bad, ever. Not even when she'd gone on almost no sleep for a week. It was pretty bad, and she was irritable. She was trying to keep from getting into a fight with anyone. She didn't want to put up with people right now and it probably wasn't a good idea to be around others, but she could control herself, contrary to popular belief.

She'd kept away from the others as long as possible, wandering around. She was restless, but for the moment she couldn't think as well. She'd been wandering for quite some time, letting her feet lead her wherever. She made her way back to camp after a while, of course. The headache had died down some. Angelica was trying to figure out if she wanted to sit a while or do something else when she heard Kenneth call back to her, not bothering to look.

"Looks stable enough, I guess. It'll probably need sides later, but it looks like it'll work." Angelica answered, running her hand through her hair and pushing it out of her face.

Kenneth nodded and looked over at her, wiping a forearm across his head. Sometimes he almost missed the dessert with it's dry heat, the humidity here was stifling. "Sides would be good. I'd need to figure out how to attach them."

He rubbed at his temples and frowned. "Don't suppose you have any Tylenol?" The headache that had been plaguing him most of the morning was throbbing incessantly and although he doubted Angelica did, it couldn't hurt to ask. People had been finding things all the time.

Angelica generally wasn't friendly, but she needed to stop pissing people off it wasn't getting her anywhere. Though, honestly as of right now she was feeling more and more inclined to telling people to fuck off and leave her alone. Her head was hurting and it wasn't fun. "I'm not much good with that, but maybe there's a way to tie them by putting holes in it or something?" She suggested with a shrug.

"Sorry, I don't. I've got a fucking headache to beat all hell too." She told him rubbing her temple.

Kenneth nodded which only made the world tip slightly. Fuck, that was going to be irritating. He did his best to shove the pain aside and ignore it as he looked at Angelica and felt a wave of irritation that had nothing at all to do with her suggestion. "Might work...if I can figure out how to drill holes. Headaches must be weather related or something...you see anyone else today?"
