This wasn’t the time or place to miss out on an opportunity to do something for the community. Admittedly, Eli was kind of nervous about getting his blood tested. He wasn’t sure what the Super Soldier Serum did to his body on a molecular level. The physical effects were obvious and nothing he’d ever complain about. He was always the lanky kid with a fiery temper. Now he had a mean left hook to show for it and the ability to help those who couldn’t defend themselves. He didn’t consider himself a Young Avenger anymore – or a superhero – but helping others was in his nature. Donating blood was probably the most basic and essential of charitable acts. Despite being kind of nervous, then, Eli was glad Gwen approached him at the Dusty Potato a couple of weeks ago and agreed to conduct some kind of experiment on his blood. It was still all sorts of uncomfortable and upsetting to be around her, knowing of her tragic death, but Eli was hoping that feeling would lessen in time. She was such an intelligent and cool girl. He couldn't help thinking they'd be pretty good friends. Not that he'd ever mention that out loud. He was far too shy. Eli made his way over to the 1st floor of the hospital and took a seat in the waiting area, where they agreed to meet. As instructed, he was there early in the morning, before work and breakfast. His stomach wasn’t all that happy with the eight hour fast, but it was necessary to avoid any alterations in the results. A hash brown breakfast was certainly capable of it. |
