Well, I'm from 1926, so people were sort of just starting to date casually and stuff then, but still most "nice" people would only spend time with someone if they were seriously thinking of marrying them, and usually they did end up getting married. Kids didn't just like, have a relationship with someone, break-up, be single for a while, start a new one, and all that. We'd go to parties and, oh, what do you call it now- make-out? Well, kiss and dance and stuff, but then we'd keep our distance when our parents around. At least that's how it was where I grew up in Ohio. People were more modern and open with dating and stuff in New York City when I got there, which was berries, but I still didn't get a steady guy...at least not yet, anyway.
