As Castiel finished his sentence for him, Dean nodded. Considering Cas was from so much earlier in their timeline, he had learned Dean quickly in this world. Obviously that profound bond had something to it. One thing was certain, they were definitely attached; and if something were to happen to Cas, Dean was sure he’d end up doing something that fell into the stupid category.
“Who says you shouldn’t?” Dean tilted his head, the same way Cas always did when he was confused by something. “You’re on Team Free Will now, remember.” He gave a cheeky little smile, “I apologise for dragging you down to my level from your cloud.”
Feeling Cas’ hand come to rest against his neck, tension left his shoulders that he hadn’t noticed build. Green eyes fixed on blue and again he licked his lower lip, trying to work out the right words to say next. “Sammy and you… you’re the ones that mean the most. Here and back there.” He felt guilty then, for not mentioning Cassie or Jo. But honestly, they didn’t come into the picture back in their world.
