Good day everyone. So much to do, I haven't seen Phil or his shadow today. But a digital round of coffee could do us all wonders (and check your mail boxes at work for actual coffee). And I'd like to float a name to reintroduce to our network society. I've given them a second chance, and they've done well. But it'll never truly be one unless they interact with people outside our types. And any person who comes back to us does more good than simply removing them from play. I'm an example of that. Grant Ward is ready for this, to speak with people not entirely like us. I'd just like him to be able to post without causing you to lose your coffee. Which by Thor I hope hasn't happened now either. But there's more if you need it.

What Phil are we talking about?

It takes a lot for me to lose my coffee.

Coulson. The groundhog. Anyone named Phil actually. There has been a dearth of Phil's in my life today.

But the person I'd like to give free access to the network to is Grant Ward.

Perhaps I need to hire some Phils.

He's working for SHIELD?

You have a wide selection of them to choose from.

He is. Helped with the helicarrier during that trouble with Ultron.

I've always had a fondness for fur.

I won't lose my coffee over him posting to the network then.

They too like space... just making it in the ground.

I'm glad to hear that.

If he's posting publicly there's a dozen people that can keep an eye on him and I suspect you've got an eye on the less public parts.

I don't doubt others will keep their eyes on him too. An eye on everything.

Many eyes and we'll deal with any problems that come up as they happen.

Agreed. And more eyes as there are more places to look.

Where do you assess his current potential as a risk?

There is always risk. His greatest risk in this regard is his potential to become obsessive, either over an old trigger or to develop a new one. It could lead to backsliding and a downward spiral. However, it's also a space I can observe and will be alert to. And see coming should it go that way.

But if he does spiral, what is your assessment on what the fallout could be?

Those he is obsessed with, their allies, and their loved ones. However, I am prepared to put a bullet in his brain should it come to that. And I know him better than he does.

There was a time that I would have said absolutely not but he has earned back Skye's trust and he has your trust as well. So I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't have any problems with him posting on the network.

I also know that you will be on top of anything that might possibly become an issue.

His development with Skye is one of the reasons I'm moving forward with this step. It had to come first.

I take that responsibility.

I trust both you and Skye to be honest with me so if you're comfortable with this then I am as well.

And just for the record, I didn't see my shadow yesterday although I don't think that counts.

If I hadn't been comfortable, it wouldn't be on the table.

Phils: 2. Shadows: 0. You do still have a shadow though, right?

Yes, I do still have one. Why? Are there some missing?

I've seen some reports on the networks about them going missing. Don't know what it's about, but I've been checking in on mine.

Plenty of old stories about shadows. Pick any book off the shelf. The tesseract could make it real. Without more details, it's little to go on.

Indeed. He lost his shadow getting out of a tight spot. Were it so, many of us would have lost ours long ago.

It's proof that I need coffee that I thought Punxsutawney Phil rather than Coulson.

I know Ward's basic story, but what should we do in terms of interacting with him? Monitoring him in some capacity is a given, but being who some of us (SHEILD and Avengers, moreso than myself) are and doing what we do, would it be better to avoid him for the time being?

Both are valid choices.

Just be honest about it with him. If you're interacting to judge or to monitor him, let him know. He's smart enough to figure it out, and it's better for his development to be up front. But those conversations don't need to be constant with each of you. The point isn't for him to be a bug under a microscope but to broaden his horizons. But you have no obligation to talk with him.
