To say Dean was worried about the wayward Angels would be an understatement. He knew it was probably unnecessary, especially on Gabriel's part. But Castiel was still new to the living among humans thing. Then of course there was the very real fact that the Tesseract could have sent the brothers back. Which would mean Gabriel was dead and Cas would be trying to stop the apocalypse (again). Yes, he knew that Castiel would get through it, but not before being disintegrated (again). His coffee break with Buffy had been a welcome distraction, but he still had that whole superpower thing to explain to his family. Sam, Jo and Charlie would probably be okay with it. But his Mom, Cassie and his Dad were the real worry. Selfishly, he wished Cas was there, for the moral support and advice Dean liked to kid himself he didn't need. Heading up to his apartment, he figured he'd spend some time sorting through his weapons before that night's patrol. Instead as he stepped through the door he was greeted with a mass of bright gold and glossy blue-black. It took a couple of seconds for him to realize just what he was looking at and a mixture of relief and annoyance flooded through him. Dropping his keys into the bowl by the door, he kicked it closed behind him and tried to ignore how incredible Gabe and Cas' wings were. Now was not the time to be dazzled or awestruck. They had some explaining to do. Leaning on the back of the sofa, he pressed his palm into the fabric of the trenchcoat discarded there and stared down at the two sitting on the floor, wings stretched, obviously thawing out. "So you're home then." |
