Ah. Yes, forgive me. Both braiding and beads are... intimate. The only ones who braid a dwarf's hair are himself, his immediate family and a lover or spouse. And the beads we wear are significant. Given by family or loved ones. The beads in my braids came from Fili and Kili when they came of age. They are usually given to a father but an uncle who has stood in as a father is not uncommon. The other bead I wear is one that was given to me by my grandfather when I came of age. The earcuff was given to me by my father after my first major battle.
