If you wish, though I suspect you will not believe me.
I am Fen'Harel. I did not lock away the Elven gods, partly because they are not gods and partly because it was not precisely locking them away so much as creating the Veil that now separates the world from the Fade in order to trap them in the Fade. In doing so, I inadvertently destroyed Arlathan and the rest of the Elvhen empire as well as the elves' immortality and basically their entire culture and lives. I did not intend to do that. I wished to punish the Evanuris for murdering Mythal, not punish my people.
Unfortunately raising the Veil exhausted me to the point where I was forced to seek the respite of the Uthenera, from which I awoke only relatively recently. I saw what had become of my people and intended to destroy the Veil and return the world to what it had originally been. This inadvertently lead to Corypheus gaining the power he did. After his destruction, I left the Inquisition to regain control of the Eluvians and recruit people to aid me.
Three years after Corypheus' destruction, the Inquisition's place in the world was being questioned, an Exalted Council was called to decide their fate and I drew the Inquisitor's attention to the Qunari's plans and she subsequently ended them, more or less. The Inquisitor's mark was finally destabilising and I was forced to remove the lower part of her arm to save her life. She and I spoke at some length about my plans to destroy the Veil and I believe she intends to show me there is another way. I wish her luck and have some hope that she can succeed.
