I think the best thing about the new world - aside from the view - is Wikipedia.

But it does seem like every day is some country's Liberation or Independence or National Holiday. This day in ... must always be so cluttered. I rather like it, though; nations should have to remember, like the rest of us, that a birthday is just a day in the year. Nobody but you and your mother are ever going to give a damn, and that's how it ought to be. Existing's nothing special. Everyone's got a little of that under his belt. Has the ridiculous overabundance of information succeeded in convincing men that they don't mean anything? It's been a long and goddamned troubled project.

Still, all the best to Albania, I suppose.
